Depth
How many transactions an analysis reads, what that changes, and when to go deeper.
What depth is
Depth is the number of the wallet's most recent transactions an analysis reads. Choose 1k, 2k, 5k or 10k, or any custom number from 1 to 10,000. The default is 1,000. Reports use the Default report depth set in your account preferences; the Explorer starts every visit at 1,000.
When a wallet has fewer transactions than the depth, all of them are read. The report says how many were.
What it changes

Changing it
- On a report: the depth picker next to the verdict re-runs the analysis. The depth is kept in the link as
?txs=5000, so a link you share opens the same analysis. - In the Explorer: the depth for new cards is set on the board; a card already analyzed can be analyzed again at another depth from its panel.
- In the API: the
depthfield of POST /analyze.
What it costs
Up to 1,000 transactions is one analysis. Beyond 1,000, up to 10,000, is a deep analysis and counts as three. See Plans and credits.
When to go deeper
- The wallet is very active (a bot, an exchange): 1,000 transactions can be a few minutes of its life.
- The verdict is
UNKNOWNor the confidence is low. - You are looking for something that happened a while ago, like where a wallet was first funded.
- The decision matters: screening before a large payment.
